Gayle Elizabeth Meinhardt, age 51 of North Mankato died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at her home.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato with Father Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention or to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Window Project.
Gayle was born April 2, 1955 at Newport, Rhode Island to Stephen and Nellie (Pecora) Meinhardt. She attended school at Holy Rosary and Good Counsel. She also attended Vocational Schools at Mankato and Faribault. She worked at Best Western Motel for 29 years and part-time at Sams Club for 3½ years.
Gayle loved her family, her friends, and her dog Mitzi and enjoyed camping, fishing, quilting, knitting, and gardening. She will be sorely missed for her loving and caring ways, for helping those in need, and her generosity.
Gayle is survived by her parents, Stephen and Nellie Meinhardt of North Mankato; sister, Barbara (James) Menton of North Mankato; nieces, Mollie Newhouse of St. Paul, Rachel Lohn of St. Cloud; step-nephews, Jimmy Menton of Albert Lea, Patrick (Sundra) Menton of Sandy, UT; aunt, June Elliot of Palmyra, NY; uncles, Ralph (Shirley) Pecora of Erie, PA, Ray McElhinny of Linesville, PA; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen and a niece Emily Newhouse.
