Arlene E. Hemmelrick, age 78, of Lake Crystal died Monday, April 3, 2006 at her home from ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease).

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Dan Weise, officiating. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Vistation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the ALS Association.

Arlene was born February 19, 1928 in Good Thunder, Minnesota to Rudolph and Esther (Wiederhoeft) Wojahn. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1946 and attended Mankato Commercial College. She married Wayne W. Hemmelrick on February 22, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal. They lived in the Lake Crystal area all their married life. Arlene was a homemaker for her family and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Arlene enjoyed delivering meals on wheels, socializing with her friends, dancing, camping, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Wayne of Lake Crystal; daughter, Betty (Thomas) Goettlicher of North Mankato; son, Ronald Hemmelrick of Lake Crystal; two grandchildren, Kami (Peter) Welter of St. Peter, Tom Goettlicher Jr. of North Mankato; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Lindsay Welter of St. Peter; sister, Melva Wojahn of Lake Crystal; aunts, Erna Borkenhagen of Truman, Lillian Bode of Courtland; two sisters-in-law, Darlene (Paul) Dunker of Lake Crystal, Connie (William) Engstrom of Coon Rapids; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents.
