Mildred Gedde

Waukesha, WI " Mildred K. Gedde (nee, Laingen, formerly Thorstad), age 90, of Waukesha, WI and formerly of Lake Crystal, died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the River Hills Healthcare Center in Pewaukee, WI.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Butternut with Pastor Gene Alms officiating. Burial in Butternut Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to Our Saviours Lutheran Church or to an organization of the donors choice.

Mildred Millie was born January 19, 1914 in Two Harbors to Lars and Louise Laingen. She lived in the Mankato area until she married Edwin Thorstad in 1933. They farmed in the Butternut area until 1964. They then lived in Lake Crystal, moved to Mankato, and in 1986, returned to Lake Crystal. Edwin died in 1970. Mildred married Ray Gedde in late 1971. After Ray died in 1990, Millie moved to Waukesha, WI. She was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Butternut.

Survivors include two sons, Len (Phyllis) Thorstad of Waukesha, WI, Gordon Thorstad of Brainerd; four grandchildren, Kevin (Jenny) of Muskego, WI, Chad (Diane) of Theresa, WI, Rodney of Brainerd, Randy of Minneapolis; two great-grandchildren, Madeline Mae and Lucas James both of Muskego, WI; and a stepbrother, John Anderson of Buffalo, NY. She was preceded in death by spouses, Edwin Thorstad and Ray Gedde; father, Lars Laingen; mother, Louise Anderson; stepfather, Harold Anderson; and a sister, Helen.
