Palma M. Klebel, age 86 of Mankato died August 6, 2004 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Karl Voelker, S.J. officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday one hour before services at the church. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Palma was born June 25, 1918 in Selby, SD to Alex and Emma (Wagner) Huber. She graduated from Selby High School and Northern Normal Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD. She taught in rural schools for 4years. During World War II she joined the WACs and served on various Army Posts in the United States. She meet her husband while in the service and they were married on June 25, 1945 in Bel Air, MD. She was discharged in Sept. of 1945, after serving 2 yrs. and 2 mo. She worked for Devney Office Machines in Mankato for 16 years. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. Palma did volunteer work in the gift shop at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and loved planting flowers.
Survived by a son, John (Linda) Klebel of Bloomington; daughter, Patrice (Tom) Grosz of St. Louis Park; granddaughter, Sarah Grosz; great-grandson, Tyron Christopher Grosz; two sisters, Norma Hettich of Selby, SD, Delores (Delbert) Hiatt of New Hope, several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Peter Klebel and grandson, Christopher Grosz.
