Magdalene G. Mag Wesely, age 88, of Mankato, died peacefully Sunday, August 1, 2004 with her family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato with Rev. Richard Colletti, officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour before services at church on Thursday. Memorials may be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Magdalene was born May 16, 1916 to Edward and Mary (Steinbauer) Hartle in Owatonna, MN. She attended country school, graduated from Owatonna High School in 1934, and attended one year of college. She was united in marriage to George V. Wesely on June 23, 1937 in Owatonna. Mag was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and longtime treasurer of St. Johns CCW. She was also a member of the Exchange Garden Club, several bridge clubs, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed gardening, playing all types of cards, the Minnesota Twins, and spending time with her family.

Mag is survived by five children, Virginia Leonard of Bellevue, WA, Mary Ann (Steve) Adamson of Lake Worth, FL, Annette (Marv) Peters of Rochester, Mark Wesely (Dianna) of Mankato, Peg (John) Wade of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 19, 1995; daughter, Donna Jean Fisher; twin sister, Margaret Mock; two brothers, Jerome and Dr. George Hartle; two sons-in-law, Dr. John Leonard and John Fisher.
