Francis Holcomb

Francis Holcomb, age 71 of Mankato died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato. Funeral service 10:30 a.m.Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church, Mankato, with Rev. Dean Wolf officiating. Interment in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to Centenary United Methodist Church or Living at Home Block Nursing Program (Hilltop Neighbors)

Francis was born April 23, 1933 in Sterling Center, MN to George and Marguerite (Wood) Holcomb. He attended Mankato High School. He served in the U. S. Army for a year. Mr. Holcomb was united in marriage to Jean A. Muilenburg on November 8, 1954 in Mankato. He was a tire salesman for Tire Associates for 8 years and prior to that Miller Motors. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #11 and a former member of the Moose Club. Francis enjoyed gardening, cooking and fixing cars.

Mr. Holcomb is survived by his wife, Jean A. Holcomb; a daughter, Debra Wetter of Mankato; a son and his wife, Dean (Karen) Holcomb of rural Good Thunder; three grandchildren, Casey Wetter and her fianc, Shawn Neitzel, Corey Wetter and Samantha Holcomb; three brothers, George (Roberta) Holcomb of Nicollet, Marion (Judy) of Mankato, Ira Holcomb of Mankato; a sister, Mary Holcomb of Colorado; nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas in 1980, four brothers and his parents.
