Harland Vincent was born May 13, 1920 to Clarence and Theresa (Studness) Hansen in Mankato. He was the oldest of seven children. Growing up he attended country school across the field from his childhood home and later attended high school in Delavan.

On March 5, 1942 Harland enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II until he was honorably discharged on December 13, 1945.

After his retirement, he began driving the bus for the Mapleton Community Home, which he did for nearly twenty years. Over the years Harland served on many church boards and the school board. He was very proud of his time spent in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed visiting the residents at the nursing home and playing cards. Harland's favorite pastime was fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marion Hansen; daughters, Connie (Darryl) Biehn and Peggy (Ron) Yeagle; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Jerome Hansen; sister, Maryann Hatteberg; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and many friends.
