Sharon Lee (Anderson) Pope, born November 16, 1940 in Mankato, went peacefully to Heaven on Saturday 29th of September 2012 surrounded by her family.

Bible Baptist Church, Farmington, is where she currently served, and where a Memorial celebration will be held on Oct. 27th at 2 pm, open to all. The private family funeral will be held in Garden City, MN. Burial in Garden City Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1958 and from Pillsbury Bible College, Owatonna, in 1962. She married Ray Pope of Fairmont that summer. Sharons mission in life, along with her husbands, was to help others physically and spiritually. When she was 7, along with her father, Lloyd E. Anderson from Garden City, Mn., while living in California, trusted Jesus as her Saviour. She committed herself to God to serve Him as a foreign missionary at the age of 14 during a summer Bible Camp near Mankato.

Now at the young age of 71, she has been ushered into Gods presence.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Emil Anderson and Alva (Yahnke) Anderson, her parents in law, Everett I. Pope and Alice (Worthley) Pope, from Fairmont MN, her Grandparents, Albert & Clara Yahnke and Emil and Alice Anderson, all from Garden City, MN. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 50 years, M. Ray Pope, Rosemount MN, her sister, India Summer Jones, from Puerto Vallarta MX, her 5 children: Rebecca Pope from Stockholm WI, Deborah Pope Burg & husband, Kent, from Zimmerman, MN., Patricia Waseleski & husband, Daniel from Duluth, MN., Timothy R. Pope & wife, Sandra, from Rosemount, MN., and Stephen L. Pope & wife, Lorena, from Rosemount, MN. She has one niece, Jody Koch Romero & her husband, Laido, and four children, from Colorado, and one nephew, Jeremy Koch, recently retired from the USAF after 23+Yrs.

Last but not least, she loved her 12 grandchildren, whom she inspired daily: Ryan L. Burrill, 26; Lucia Sharon Condra, 14; Victoria A. Pope, 14; Natalia R.Condra, 11; Julian Ray Pope, 5; Elizabeth S. Pope, 4; Joshua Pope Burg, 3; Jeremiah L. Pope, 3; Jeziah L. Pope, 1; David J.Waseleski, 9 mo; & newborn twins, Rachel Sharon and Jonathan Everett Pope Burg, 1 week old.

Along with her immediate family, Sharon leaves people she touched and influenced throughout her life as a missionary in Uruguay, SA. (1968-2003) where she ministered, including founding and directing a Christian school which is still educating children today. She taught English, music and home schooled her children. Since retirement she has been a volunteer Spanish translator at a local clinic. Her hobbies were gardening with Dad, music and her grandchildren. Her smile encouraged all who met her, and her words were kind, leaving people joyful to know her. Sharons verse: Matt. 6: 33 " But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you . . . " was her motto in life.
Our beloved mom, wife, grandma, friend, and teacher leaves a great void, not without hope, in the lives of her family & friends.
