Margaret M. Peg McTigue, age 84 of Mankato, died Monday evening, June 7, 2004 at Immanuel " St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Richard Colletti officiating. Burial will be in Tivoli Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Thursday with a 4:00 p.m., prayer service at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation continues one hour before service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to Tivoli Cemetery or Minnesota Public Radio.
Margaret Madonna McTigue was born May 20, 1920 to Timothy and Anna (Cuff) Ryan in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Robert McTigue on December 27, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Peg was a member of the Girl Scouts of America and received the Silver Eaglet Award. She received her Nursing Degree from Mercy College in Dubuque, Iowa in 1941 and a Music Degree from Mankato State College in 1976. Peg was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was a former organist, the Mankato Golf Club and was one of its former ladies club champion and scored a hole in one during her life. She was also a member of Summit Center and was the pianist for the Summit Center chorus. As an RN she volunteered for the Red Cross. Peg was a member of A Little Bit of Jazz Trio which entertained at schools and nursing homes throughout the Mankato area. Her interests included horseback riding, tennis, golf, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Timothy Joseph McTigue of Mankato, John (Linda) McTigue of Sparks, NV, Terence (Carol) McTigue of Eden Prairie; three daughters, Mary Ellen McTigue of Montclair, NJ, Jean (Michael) Antonello of New Brighton, Patricia (Dave) Ingebrigtsen of Grand Marais; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Ann Louise.
