Dolores E. Lehmphul, age 85, of St. Peter and formerly of Mankato and Mapleton, died Wednesday morning, January 14, 2004 at the St. Peter Community Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Charles Ortloff officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held one hour before services at the church on Friday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Dolores E. Lehmphul was born June 10, 1918 to James and Olga (Wrucke) Morris in Lyra Township, Blue Earth Co. Minnesota. She was confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Mapleton. Dolores graduated from Mapleton High School in 1936 and Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Carl W. Lehmphul on December 15, 1939. They farmed until his death in 1948. She joined her parents in farming and caring for them. She was self employed as a farm manager. In 1980, she and her mother moved to Mankato, she continued farm management and caring for her mother. After her mothers death in 1982, she became a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mankato. She enjoyed working in the outdoors and Minnesota Twins Baseball.
Dolores is survived by one niece, Kari Meyer of Bloomington, MN; cousins, Jean Beetsch and Marjorie Poehler both of Mankato; sister-in-law, Leanna Meyer of Bloomington, MN; special friends, Ruth Kunz and Elaine Kunz both of Mankato, and John Preston of Janesville, MN;
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl and one sister, Mildred Krengel.
