Irene E. Yaeger
Mankato, MN " Irene E. Yaeger, age 85, of Mankato, died Saturday, January 10, 2004, at her sons home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church in Mankato with Rev. John Michel officiating. Burial will be in Holberg Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the ISJ Hospice program.
Irene was born July 25, 1918 in Colorado Springs, CO to Frank and Edna (Reed) King. She graduated from Lewis High School in Monument, CO and attended the University of Colorado in Fort Collins. On September 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to Merton L. Yaeger in Colorado Springs. They moved to Mankato, where they farmed and operated a Dairy herd. In 1954, they started Yaeger Bus Service, which they owned and operated until they sold to their son, Dwight, in 1973.
Irene was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was an animal enthusiast and adored her pets, especially, Sadie her recent Doberman Pinscher companion.
Irene will be lovingly missed by her two sons and their wives, Dwight and Karen Yaeger of rural Mankato, Gary and Jill Yaeger of Tunkhannock, PA; five grandchildren, Chad, Ranae, Gretchen, Vanessa, and Nicole; six great grandchildren, Madelyn, Tallia, Mitchell, Ariauna, Madisyn, Megan; two sisters-in-law, Margaret King and Ella King both of Boise, ID; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1996; two brothers, Jack and Dick; and a sister, Dorothy.
