Craig S. Qualset, age 58 of Green River WY, formerly of Mankato died Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at the Pioneer Hospital, West Valley City, Utah.
Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato, with Rev. Paul Meierding officiating. Private burial services at Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to Muscular Dystrophy Association, Bethlehem Lutheran Church Infant/Toddler/Youth Building Fund or donors choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Craig was born June 5, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN to Rudolph and Helen (Holbrook) Qualset. He graduated from Mankato High School, where he excelled at basketball and baseball. He graduated from Mankato State College in 1967 and subsequently obtained Masters and Education Specialist degrees.
He was a public school teacher, counselor and school psychologist. He last worked for the Sweetwater School District, Rock Springs, WY. Craig was an advocate for children with special needs. He was interested in sports and travel.
Craig is survived by a sister and her husband, Susan and Joe Strunka of Fairbanks, Alaska; a brother and his wife, Robert and Marsha Qualset of Mankato; step-mother, Marian Qualset of Mankato; special friend, Hester Haraguchi of Rock Springs, WY; one uncle; a nephew and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
