Alice J. Hanson, age 84, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Immanuel " St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal, with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Interment will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church building fund or donors choice.
Alice was born on August 8, 1919 in Albert Lea, MN to Clarence and Petrea (Hansen) Mathison. She lived with her family in Flaxville, Montana until her fathers death in 1927, when she moved with her mother and brother to Lake Crystal. She was a 1938 graduate of Lake Crystal High School. She married Willis Hanson on July 25, 1942 in Lake Crystal. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Rachel Circle and Mission Circle. She had also served as a deacon, church financial secretary and Sunday School teacher. She was a past member of the Lake Crystal Garden Club and was a volunteer at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center where she did mending and tagging for the residents. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts, and gardening.
Alice is survived by her husband, Willis; daughter, Judy both of Lake Crystal; brother, Harlan Mathison and his wife Zona of Moorhead, MN; two nephews, Mark Mathison of Alexandria, MN, Rick Mathison of Moorhead, MN and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
