Blanche Margaret Hopkins, age 95, of North Mankato, died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the Mankato Lutheran Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato with Rev. Edward Ardolf officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4"7 p.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, M.S. Society, or Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Blanche Hopkins was born February 16, 1908 to William and Josephine (Mensen) Diekmann in Remsen, Iowa. She married Clarence Hopkins on November 12, 1935 in Remsen. The couple moved to the Winthrop area and farmed from 1935 to 1956 before moving to North Mankato. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the CCW. Her interests included gardening, crocheting, and spending time with family.
She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Joan and Orrel Thompson of Glenwood, MN, Jean and Dale Timm of Owatonna, MN, Beatrice and Jerry Edwards of Mankato; one son Patrick Hopkins and his wife, Nancy of North Mankato; 11 grand-children, 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Diekmann and his wife, Josephine of Sun City, CA; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 1985, two brothers, and four sisters.
