Robert L. Bob Hiller, age 50 of Mankato died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Funeral services 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating. Interment in Barnards Valley View Cemetery, rural Good Thunder, MN. Visitation is on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at church on Saturday.
He was born January 22, 1953 in Mankato to Alvin R. and Anne (Runtzel) Hiller. He attended St. Johns Parochial School in Good Thunder and graduated from Amboy-Good Thunder High School in 1971 and then attended Mankato State University for one year. Bob loved to farm and did so, along with owning and operating Bobs Body Shop in Amboy. He worked for Aim Auto, Mikes Auto Body, Jerrys Body Shop and most recently as farm manager for Fenske Farms in Bricelyn, MN. Bob had a passion for music, singing and playing the guitar. He was part of the band, Red Oak. He also loved to snowmobile, work on old cars, landscape his yard and most of all, visit with friends. Bob was a family man, a friend to all and will be missed terribly.
Bob was married to Lisbeth Leagjeld and had one daughter, Sara Beth in 1977. He remarried in September of 1985 to Michelle Munyer and had three children, Laura Lynn in 1986, Matthew Robert in 1989 and Danielle Marie in 1993.
Bob is also survived by his mother, Anne Hiller of Mankato; two brother and their wives, Wayne and Delores Hiller of Good Thunder, Larry and Mary Jane Hiller of Apple Valley; son-in-law, Paul Wojewski; a granddaughter, Isabella and a grandson, Luca all of Rapid City, SD; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin and parents-in-law, Fred and Ellie Munyer.
