Wesley Carl Schubbe, age 90 of Mankato, died Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hosanna Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Kosberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in St. Clair. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Wesley was born September 1, 1913 in Medo Township, Blue Earth County to Herman and Ida (Tesch) Schubbe. He was united in marriage to Grace Annis on February 25, 1939 in Mapleton. Wesley farmed in the Medo Township area until 1960 and then worked at the Pemberton Farmers Lumber Company until retiring in 1983. He was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church and a former member of the Mankato Golden K. An avid Minnesota Twins fan, he enjoyed having coffee with his friends and spending time with his family.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Grace Schubbe of Mankato; daughter, Sally Fjelstad of Mankato; son, Richard Schubbe and his wife, Judy of rural Kasota; three grandchildren and their spouses, Perry and Rhonda Mortenson, Pamela and Keith Deike, Debra and Andy Stenzel; six great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard Schubbe and his wife, Marian of Mapleton; sister-in-law, Irmgard Schubbe of rural Mapleton; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, David Fjelstad; daughter-in-law, Carole Schubbe; two sisters and five brothers.
