Ronald F. Schulz Sr., age 73, of Mankato, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at his home surrounded by family.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Mankato Mortuary. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
Ronald Frederick Schulz was born July 14, 1937 to Walter and Lucille (Kowinsky) Schulz in Mankato. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1957. On May 17, 1958, he married Lee Outland in Mankato. He worked as a Terminal Manager and Truck Driver for various trucking companies. A 39-year member of the Key City Kennel Club, Ron held the positions of Vice President, Show Chairman, a Board Member and Obedience Director. He enjoyed showing his dogs. Ron loved sitting on his front porch swing, watching the birds.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Lee; son, Ronald (Debra) Schulz Jr. of Mankato; daughter, Sherry (David) Peterson of Mankato; 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Derek, Bradley, Sara, Melanie; sister, Berneda Schickling of Madelia; many nieces and nephews; and all of his special four-legged companions at home.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Ron leaves us with the memories of his kind heart, his generous nature, and most of all by the big smile he always gave everyone.
