Harry B. Hoffrogge, age 83, of Mankato, died on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Sunrise Cottages in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19, at 10:30 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Dan Weise officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 before the service on Saturday. Private burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harry's memory to Hospice or to donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Harry was born on September 5, 1927, in Revere, MN to John and Reka Hoffrogge. He graduated from Lamberton High School in 1945. On September 20, 1950, Harry was united in marriage to Doris R. Fischer in Wabasso, MN. They were blessed with 6 wonderful children. After farming for several years, Harry moved his family to Mankato where he worked for Honeymead for 32 years. Harry attended Hosanna Lutheran Church and was a member of the Eagles Club and Moose Lodge. His favorite activities included Polka dancing, fishing, playing billiards, playing cards with friends and family and playing with his grandchildren. He loved watching sports, especially the Twins and the Vikings, and he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. During the summer, he spent hours caring for his garden and grooming his yard.

Harry is survived by his wife Doris of Mankato; 3 sons Michael of Mankato, Larry (Kathi) of Mankato, and Harry (Jane) of Fort Worth, TX, and 3 daughters Brenda (Russ) Alton of Warren, IL, Lucinda (Warren) Alleven of Delavan, MN, and Shari Kelley of Phoenix, AZ; 16 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters Ella Hanson of Walnut Grove, MN, and Luella Gentz of Sleepy Eye, MN. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, one grandchild John C. Hoffrogge and one great grandchild Audrey Corin Johnston.
