Rebecca Hewitt, age 36 of North Mankato, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at her home.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Dan Weise officiating. Interment will be in Minneopa Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. on Saturday at North Mankato Mortuary " NORTHVIEW, 2060 Commerce Drive, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.

Becky was born on September 19, 1974 in Bismarck, N.D. She was the daughter of Darrold and Cindy "Margie" (Axtman) Schall. Becky graduated from New Ulm Public High School and Hightec Institute. She was united in marriage to Dan Hewitt on March 29, 2003. Becky was a nurse at the Mankato Clinic for many years. Her hobbies included drag racing, demo derbies, scrapbooking, snowmobiling, relaxing in the pool, sitting by the fire and just spending time with family and friends.

Becky was diagnosed with breast cancer six years ago. In 2008 Becky created Team "Becky's Hope" for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. She participated with her team from 2008-2010. Becky was the 2009 and 2010 top fundraiser. Team "Becky's Hope" will carry on her legacy with the 2011 walk.

Becky is survived by her husband, Dan of North Mankato; two daughters, Kalley (14) and Taylor (7); parents, Darrold and Cindy "Margie" Schall of St. Peter; one brother, John (Amy) Schall and their children, Chastine, Hailey, and Noah of Cottage Grove; one sister, Terri Birchem and her children, Kaeley, Emily, Anna, and Mary Jo of Fridley; grandmothers, Jeanne Axtman and Geraldine Schall of Devils Lake, N.D.; parents-in-law, Larry and Linda (Ficken) Hewitt of Nicollet; grandmother, Marie Ficken of Blue Earth; brother-in-law, Troy (Cindy) Hewitt and their children, Colton and Trayton; sister-in-law, Sara (Kent) Evans and their children, Macie and Brayden.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Ken A. Axtman and Frank Schall.
