Carol June Holtze, age 78 of Mankato, died Friday, February 4, 2011 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be from 4 " 6 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
Carol June Holtze was born in Mankato on August 1, 1932 to Myrtle Heim Holtze and Herman Holtze. She grew up in Belgrade Township. Carol attended District 34 and then attended Nicollet High School where she graduated in 1950. Carol worked at Continental Can Company in Mankato from 1954-1986. In 1980 Carol moved into Mankato and resided in the city until her death.
Carol was a lifetime member of Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato. She enjoyed the Continental Ladies lunch group, liked flowers, country music, and made jewelry as a hobby.
Carol is survived by her sister, Doris Holtze Sutherland of Lake Crystal; nephews, James Sutherland of Courtland, Thomas (Linda) Sutherland of Lake Benton; three great-nephews, Michael, John, and Gary; one great-niece, Megan; one great-great niece, Justine; cousins, Gladys Holtze Post of Pensacola, FL, Dee (Cal) Calhoun of Colorado Springs, CO, Jerry Blank of Henderson, NV, Char (John) Salewske of Sprit Lake, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, John Sutherland, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
