Deloris Inez Engelen, age 69, of Mankato, died Sunday January 23, 2011 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.

A private family service will be held at Mankato Mortuary in Mankato. Public visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Mankato Mortuary. Burial will be at a later date in Minneopa Cemetery.

Deloris was born November 5, 1941 to Clarence H. and Helen I. (Werner) Patterson in Mankato, MN. She attended school in Mankato. Deloris was united in marriage November 28, 1959 to James Engelen in Arlington. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ of Mankato. Deloris enjoyed oil painting, bird watching, crocheting, baking, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Deloris is survived by five sons, Mark (Laurel) Engelen of Good Thunder, David (Penny) Engelen of Mankato, Bruce (Heather) Engelen of Mankato, Tom (Sandie) Engelen of Mankato, and Scott (Jan) Engelen of Mankato; six grandchildren, Becca, Alisha, Jeremy, Tom, Leah, Payton; three great-grandchildren, Justin, James, Abby and one expected great-grandson; brother, Ralph (Bonnie) Patterson of Tonasket, WA; sister, Dorothy (Kenneth) Anderson of Texas; three step-grandchildren, Angie, Victoria, Katie and many nieces and nephews.

Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Clarence and Helen; and four brothers, Raymond, Jess, James, and Eugene.
