Louise "Mickey" A. Karau, age 53, of Lake Crystal, died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association or to an organization of the donors choice.

Louise was born February 22, 1951 in Fairmont to Orval and Lillie (Breithbarth) Wendt. She was baptized at their rural Truman home in 1951 and was confirmed on April 11, 1965 in Fraser Township. She graduated from Osseo High School on June 4, 1969. On June 5, 1976, she married Arlen E. Karau in Lewisville. They made their home in Lake Crystal. Louise worked for Collis Mobil from 1986-1997 and had served on the Lake Crystal Ambulance Service. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and for 17 years was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Louise liked pets, traveling, being outdoors, gardening, reading, and spending time with family.

She is survived by husband, Arlen Karau of Lake Crystal; two sons, Joe Karau and wife, Meghan of Rochester, Jon Karau and wife, Darci of Mankato; mother, Lillie Eickhoff of Lake Crystal; two sisters, Roxy (Loren) Johnson of Winsted, Sheryl Wendt of St. James; brother, Michael (Karla) Wendt of Mountain Lake; mother-in-law, Elta Karau of Truman; two sisters-in-law, Donna Marie Murphy of Omaha, NE, Janice Galema of Elko, MN; two stepsisters, ShirleyAnn Eickhoff of St. James, Doreen (Jerry) Seeman of Lewisville; two stepbrothers, Daryl (Marlene) Eickhoff of Fairmont, Charles Eickhoff of Lewisville; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Robert; stepfather, Floyd; stepsister, Darlene; and a stepbrother, Robert.
