Kim was born on June 11, 1958, in New Ulm, to her proud parents, Warren and Shirley (Klutz) Wilking. She was confirmed in 1972 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Arlington. Kim was a 1976 graduate of Mankato East High School, and a 1979 graduate of Mankato State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and business. She was united in marriage to David A. Born on June 24, 1978, at St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato.
Shortly after she and David married, Kim began her business-teaching career which spanned from 1980-1991. She taught business classes at New Ulm High School, Immanuel Lutheran School in Mankato, and Rasmussen Business College. Kim also managed Toys Plus in Mankato from 1982-1987. Kim was later employed with Hubbard Milling Company from 1989-1997, doing marketing and sales in their pet food department. In 1997, Kim went to work for Taylor Corp., where she traveled extensively as a senior account executive with Masterpiece Studios.
A devoted wife, mother, and friend to all, Kim will be greatly missed by many. Her giving and kind spirit has touched all who knew her. Kim was a loyal and faithful wife, who enjoyed vacationing and spending time with her husband, Dave. She was also a dedicated mother to her two sons. Her oldest son, Dan, is currently serving overseas in Kosovo with the Army National Guard, and her youngest son, Jon, is a full-time student at Minnesota State University - Mankato. Kim was their biggest fan, and attended all their sporting events. She was the mom in the stands who kept everyones stats, cheered enthusiastically, and volunteered to bring sandwiches and snacks for the team. She was so proud of her two boys. Kim loved them unconditionally and always supported them in everything that they did.
Kim was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato, where she loved to sing in the choir. You could always hear her singing a song as she worked, traveled, and played. She brought joy wherever she went. If Kim wasnt singing, she was laughing. She found amazement in lifes everyday little pleasures: birthday flowers from her father Pa , shopping for antiques with her mother Ma , cards from family and friends, Mothers Day gifts from her sons, listening to her niece play the piano, playing with her nephew, making crafts with friends, and discovering new ways to make unique gifts for others. Kim was full of compassion and creativity. She blessed many with her heartfelt homemade gifts: scrapbooks, cards, handbags, blankets, etc. She left many memorable pieces of art for others to enjoy for years to come. Kim spent her life serving others and always gave a hundred and ten percent to everything she did. Her fun-loving spirit and kindness will be greatly missed.
