Verna Kolling

Verna A. Kolling, age 93 of Mankato, died Tuesday morning March 9, 2004 at the Mankato Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary with Pastor Dean Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services on Friday. Memorial may be given to Centenary United Methodist Church or donors choice.

Verna Kolling was born November 8, 1910 to Henry and Reka (Wolff) Fredricks in Canby, MN. She moved with her family to Mankato. Verna was married to Arthur Tyson in 1928, he later died, she was married to Warren Hubbard in 1945, he later died, and she was married to Alford Kolling in 1979 and he later died. She worked in sales at various stores until 1943 when she was employed at MN Employment Office for 20 years. Verna was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She did volunteer work for the Red Cross Blood Mobile for many years.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Olinger of Mankato; one step-daughter, Nancy Hubbard Peck of Grand Meadow, MN; one step-son, Tedd Hubbard of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by three husbands, two brothers, three sisters, and a grandson.
