Ralph Albert Buecksler, age 81 of Mankato, died on Monday, October 11, 2010 after a short stay at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church (421 N. 2nd St.) in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 9 " 11a.m. at the Church on Saturday. Interment will take place at Alma City Cemetery, rural Janesville, after a luncheon at the church. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.

Ralph was born October 31, 1928 in the family home near Pemberton, McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, MN to Albert and Ella (Schroeder) Buecksler. He attended school at Pemberton and graduated as salutatorian of his high school class. He then attended Mankato Commercial College. Ralph was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Alma City. He worked at several occupations, most recently at the former Hofman Implement in Pemberton and Brown Printing in Waseca.

Ralph was a recent resident at Gus Johnson Plaza in retirement where he enjoyed the friendship of all who lived there. He underwent cancer treatments since being diagnosed in November 2009.

Ralph is survived by two brothers, Melvin of Mankato, Leonard "Buck" and wife Phyllis of Brooklyn Park, MN; two sisters, Gert Stavenau of Mankato, Arlene Manthe of Belle Plaine, MN; sister-in-law, Evelyn Buecksler of Mankato; 13 nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verna Preston; brothers, Lawrence and Robert.
