Thomas W. Pfeilsticker, age 87, of Mankato died Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Mankato. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary with a 7:30 p.m., prayer service
Thomas was born May 3, 1923 to Linn Peter and Cecelia (Howe) Pfeilsticker in Wabasha, MN. He graduated from St. Felix Catholic School in Wabasha. He served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Thomas played baseball for the Chicago White Sox following his military service. He then farmed and at that time was united in marriage to Jeanette Albrecht on June 29, 1953 in Elmdale, MN. He worked for the State of Minnesota, and was a bus driver for the City of Mankato. Thomas was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 950, and the Eagle's Arie 269. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, and all types of sports.
Thomas is survived by five daughters, Leonette (Gary) Nelson of Madison Lake, LouAnn (James) Marsh of Mankato, Therese (Charles) Shull of Seattle, WA, Mary (James) McDonald of Mankato, Patricia Pfeilsticker (Joe Schmitz) of Albuquerque, NM; two sons, Dale Pfeilsticker of Minneapolis, Peter Pfeilsticker of Mankato; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Linn (Mary Ann) Pfeilsticker of Wabasha; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thomas was preceded in death by parents; wife, Jeanette in 1996; brother, Kendall.
