Luverne M. Bergemann, 82, of Good Thunder, MN, was surrounded by family when she peacefully left this world to be with God on October 1, 2010 at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Following the service, burial will be at Barnard's Valley View Cemetery, rural Good Thunder. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Luverne was born September 2, 1928, in Decoria Township, Blue Earth County to Ruben and Lillie (Schull) Bluhm. She was baptized on October 21, 1928, and confirmed on May 24, 1942, at Decoria Lutheran Church in Decoria Township. She attended Mapleton High School and graduated in 1947. She married Lorin Bergemann September 19, 1948 at Decoria Lutheran Church. They lived on their farm near Good Thunder their entire married life. She was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, Good Thunder American Legion Auxiliary, and recently joined the Kiwanis Club helping with voluntary projects at the Pathstone Living in Mankato. She enjoyed gardening, canning, embroidering, reading, blueberry picking up north, and playing cards with her children and many grandchildren.

Luverne was married to her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Lorin, and together they had six children; Curtis (Marylu) of Peck, KS; Dennis (Lee) of Janesville, MN; Gary (Lori) of Fairmont, MN; Rita Jenkins (Kevin), Benita Lefebvre (Kevin), both of Elk River, MN; Lynn (Denise) of Garden City, MN; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Schultz; sister-in-law, Anna Bluhm; and many nieces and nephews. Luverne was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin; her parents; her brother, Lester; one grandchild; and brother-in-law, Willie Schultz.
