Helen Caroline Rigdon, age 94, of Good Thunder, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Good Thunder. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary with a 3:45 p.m. prayer service and continue one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Helen was born March 10, 1916 to Thure and Hallie (Johnson) Oman in Rock Springs, WI. She graduated from Prairie Du Sac High School in Prairie Du Sac, WI in 1933. Helen was united in marriage to John Kenneth Rigdon in St. Peter on June 17, 1935. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to her family. Helen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its CCW, Rose Society, and the Prime Timers. She was an artist and artistic in all her endeavors. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and growing roses of which she had over 100 bushes. Most important of all to Helen was being a mother.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Colette (Don) Metzger of Stevensville, MI; Judy (Ron) Dare of Grover Beach, CA; Joyce (Patrick) Shain of North Mankato; Ann (Dean) Nickels of Mankato; sons, Charles (Arlene) Rigdon of Good Thunder; Bill (JoAnn) Rigdon of Mankato; Robert (Sharon) Rigdon of Coon Rapids; James Rigdon of TORC, NM; Ron (Conni) Rigdon of Mapleton; Michael (Kathy) Rigdon of Good Thunder; Dave (Sharman) Rigdon of Good Thunder; daughter-in-law, Joan Rigdon of Mankato; 37 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, two sisters-in-law, Antoinette Stemlow and Jeannette Rigdon.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son, Patrick Rigdon; great-grandson, Jason Brandenburg; and four brothers.
