Lorraine A. Gosewisch, age 94, of Mankato, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Lorraine was born on May 6, 1916 in Mankato. She was the daughter of John C. and Ottilia (Schaub) Strusz. Lorraine attended SS. Peter & Paul Catholic School in Mankato. She was united in marriage to LeRoy L. Gosewisch on May 29, 1938 in Gettysburg, S.D. Lorraine was a homemaker for her family. She and LeRoy lived in Cleveland, MN, moved to Arizona for a while, and came back to Faribault, MN. Lorraine moved back to Mankato in 1999. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, canning, camping, music and playing organ, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Johnson of Mankato, Susan (Duane) Kawell of Faribault, and Lana (Chuck) Pickett of Mankato; eight grandchildren, Todd (Mary) Johnson, Cheryl Johnson Reichert, Pamela (Daniel) Hill, Kevin (Kathy) Kawell, Gregory (Clarise) Kawell, Michael (Sarah) Kawell, Jackie (Dan) Wilson, and Jennifer (Darren) Kalk; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy in 1997; one great grandchild, Jacob; one brother and two sisters.
