Myrtle M. Cray, age 88 of North Mankato, died Saturday February 21, 2004 at Barbs In Home Adult Care in Mankato.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato with Rev. Gary Wong officiating. Burial will be later in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the donors choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Myrtle was born March 30, 1915 to Henry H. and Anna (Friday) Borgwardt in White County, South Dakota. She was united in marriage to Archie R. Cray on February 17, 1946 in Mankato. She worked for many years as a dietician at Oaklawn H.C.C. and later at Lake Crystal H.C.C. before retiring in the mid 1970s. They moved to Battle Lake, MN before moving to Brownsville, TX where they lived 20 years before moving back to North Mankato in 1999. She was a member of St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato, and the Senior Federation. Myrtle enjoyed crafts, painting and bowling in couples league.
She is survived by two sons, Darwin Cray and wife, Pat of North Mankato, Donald McKibben and wife, Pat of Surprise, AZ; two daughters, Dorothy June Jones and her husband, Duane Jim of Sierra Vista, AZ, Patti Roy of Mankato; daughter-in-law, Jean Cray of North Mankato; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Velma Bunde and husband, Ralph of North Mankato, Lola Ewert of Mankato; two brothers, Carl Borgwardt and wife, Milly of North Mankato, V. Dale Borgwardt and wife, Betty of Rochester; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband; a son, Marvin; four great-grandchildren.
