Donald Campbell

Donald Robert Campbell Sr., age 82, of rural Lake Crystal died Friday, February 20, 2004 at his home.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Jerry David officiating. Burial in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation TODAY from 2-5 p.m. at the Lake Crystal Mortuary in Lake Crystal. Visitation continues one hour before services at church on Monday.

Mr. Campbell was born May 19, 1921 to Ray and Grace (Buss) Campbell in Butternut Valley Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1938. Donald was united in marriage to Bonnie Campbell on June 29, 1946 in Minneapolis. He farmed all his life with his brother, Melvin and his nephews in rural Lake Crystal. Donald had served on the Lake Crystal School Board, Lake Crystal Co-op boards, and the Midland Board of Review in Minneapolis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Crystal. He was an avid reader and loved the outdoors and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of rural Lake Crystal; one son, Dr. Donald Del Campbell and his wife, Susan of rural Lake Crystal; two daughters, Colleen Roder and her husband, David of rural St. Peter, Kay Midthun and her husband, Kenneth of Colorado Springs, CO; one brother, W. Glen Campbell and his wife, Marie of Eaton Rapids, MI; one sister, Minne L. Buyse and her husband, Robert of Carmichael, CA; two sisters-in-law, Marcelyn Campbell of rural Lake Crystal, Dorothy Campbell of Minneapolis, five grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Grace and brother, Melvin.
