Vada Reichel

Vada G. Reichel, age 97, of Mankato, died Thursday, February 19, 2004 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2004 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Ted Hottinger S.J., officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before services at church on Monday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Vada was born May 5, 1906 in Waterville to George A. and Elsie (Madson) Francisco. She graduated from Waterville High School. She married Robert J. Reichel on September 12, 1928 in Mankato. Vada was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, card playing and cooking.

Vada is survived by her son, Robert Bob Reichel of Madison Lake; granddaughter, Susan Thompson of Golden Valley; four grandsons, Doug Reichel of Mankato, Paul Reichel and wife, Kathleen of Rochester, Timothy Reichel and wife, Margaret of Minnetonka, Mark Reichel and wife, Robin of Annandale; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Eva Quiram of Waterville; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Schwamberger of Mankato. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967; brother, Grant; and daughter-in-law, Jean.
