Daniel L. Edwards, age 84, of rural Lake Crystal died Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at Immanuel - St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal. Interment in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at the church.
Mr. Edwards was born June 10, 1919 in Garden City Township, Blue Earth Co. to Len and Irene (Peterson) Edwards. He graduated form Mankato High School. He served in the U.S Army, during World War II in the European Theater from 1941-1945. He was united in marriage to Ruby Miller on October 11, 1946 in Mankato. He was a longtime Lake Crystal area farmer. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a deacon and elder. He was also a member of the John Roth American Legion Post #294 in Lake Crystal. He enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Edwards of rural Lake Crystal; a son, Dan Edwards of rural Lake Crystal; a daughter and her husband, Becky and Dan Stewart of Marshall, MN; seven grandchildren; a sister, Alvina Gifford of Minneapolis; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
