Rosario Montoya

Rosario Montoya, age 72, of Mankato, died Sunday, February 1, 2004, at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Sunrise Assembly of God Church in St. Peter, with Pastor Jose Alonzo officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter.

Rosario was born on October 7, 1931, in Durango, Mexico. She was the daughter of Guadalupe and Brigida (Montoya) Torres. Rosario was a migrant worker in Texas, and later moved to Minnesota. She was employed with Tony Downs Food Co. in Madelia, MN. Rosario was a member of the Sunrise Assembly of God Church in St. Peter. She enjoyed doing embroidery and collecting keepsake statues.

Rosario is survived by a brother, Lalo Torres of Mexico; one niece, Juana Gallegos of Mesilla Park, NM; two nephews, Sergio Romero of El Paso, TX and Armando Romero of Albuquerque, NM .

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
