Leone M. Hodapp, age 94, of Mankato, died Friday, January 23, 2004 at the St. Peter Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Ted Hottinger, S.J. and Rev. Francis Kunz concelebrating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour prior to services at church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Schola Foundation or to an organization of the donors choice.
Leone was born November 29, 1909 in Blue Earth County to Paul and Mary (Heidwinkel) Kohler. She attended SS. Peter and Paul grade school, Good Counsel Academy, Mankato Commercial College, and Brunswick Correspondence School. She married Robert N. Hodapp on November 27, 1931 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she had been a lifetime member. She had worked for 30 years for Stan A. Smith Jewelry as buyer and sales person. She had served as president of PTA in the late 1930s, served two terms as president of Degree of Honor, was coordinator for the Red Cross Blood Mobile for five years, and was active with the Summit Center Style Show. She had volunteered at Immanuel Hospital, ISJ Gift Shop, and had served on the ISJ Auxiliary Board. Leone loved living at their home on Duck Lake and fishing year round. She enjoyed entertaining, flower gardening, traveling, and decorating for the holidays.
Survivors include her son, Bob of Owatonna; sister, Lucille E. Kohler of North Mankato; nieces; nephews; and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Robert in 1993.
Leone loved diamonds, daiquiris, dividends, dogs, and doing for others.
