Marilyn L. Romnes Stubbs, age 59 of Mankato, died Sunday January 18, 2004 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Come join the celebration of Marilyns going home to be with the Lord. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday at New Creation World Outreach Church in North Mankato with Rev. David Laughlin officiating. Burial will be in the Big Fork Cemetery in Bigfork, MN. Visitation will be from 4 " 7 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Creation World Outreach Church, Teen Challenge, or Marilyn Romnes Stubbs Ministries to continue her ministry through others.
Marilyn was born and raised in the town of Effie, in northern Minnesota by her parents Orville and Evelyn Randall. She married John Romnes in 1961, they were divorced in 1998. Her deep love for the wilderness and nature drew her back to her homeland and cabin in northern Minnesota. She was known for her many practical jokes, living life to the fullest, always ready to pray with you, invite you to live at her home, bring you to church, and help you walk out your life for the Lord.
She was known for taking in children and adults in need, fulfilling the call of her life for the Lord. She will be long remembered by the many people she has helped.
She married Rev. Wayne Stubbs of Florida in 2002. It was their wish to have had many more years together for the Lords Glory.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Wayne Stubbs; two sons, Ronald Romnes and wife Laura of Owatonna, Steven Romnes and wife Cynthia of Mankato; 8 grandchildren; mother, Evelyn Lund of Big Fork, MN; three brothers, Ron Randall and wife, Sandy of Grand Rapids, MN, Lester Randall and wife, Elaine of Avon Park MN, Doug Randall and wife, Geri of St. Cloud, MN; two step-brothers, Truman Lund and wife, Esther of Effie, MN, Duane Lund and wife, Jackie of Colorado; step-sister, Betty Eckert of Big Fork, MN; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her father in 1959 and step-father, Jesse Lund in 1991.
As kids growing up we couldnt have asked for a better Mom. There was never a shortage of hugs, kisses or I love you. Our childhood was truly special because of you and all you did. Thank you Mom! We love you and miss you lots! " Ron and Steve.
