Elizabeth Lizzie Peterson, age 98, of Mankato and formerly of Judson, died Monday, January 12, 2004 at Mankato Lutheran Home.

Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Judson, with Rev. Rebecca Sullivan officiating. Interment in Hebron Cemetery, Nicollet Township, Nicollet County. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at church on Thursday.

Elizabeth was born, January 12, 1906 in Wales to Humphrey and Laura (Morris) Parry. Her family moved to the United States when she was three years old and settled in Lafayette, Colorado. In 1915 they came to Kearns, Minnesota and to Judson in 1920. In Judson she worked in her fathers grocery store until her marriage to Leo Peterson on November 11, 1927 in Mankato. During her early married years she provided room and board for school teachers of the Judson School. She lived all of her married life in Judson and had resided at the Mankato Lutheran Home for the last three years.

She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was church treasurer for many years. Her interests centered around the church and its activities, cooking, especially desserts, her friends and the community.

She is survived by a son, Charles Peterson and his wife, Letitia of Judson; step-grandson, Maurice Jorgenson and his wife, Deborah; step-greatgrandson, Brent all of Missouri; nieces, Gloria (Peterson) Buss of Lake Crystal, LaVon (Parry) Etherington and her husband, Robert of Brooklyn Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo on July 1, 1993; brother, Humphrey Parry and wife, Irene; sister, Jane Parsons and husband, Harvey.
