Adam Richard Worrell, 43, of Mankato, passed away following a 19-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis on Saturday, May 30, 2020.
Adam was born October 15, 1976 in Owatonna to Richard and Margaret (Wasser) Worrell. He attended Claremont School and Triton High School, graduating in 1995. He went on to Minnesota State University, Mankato where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with an emphasis in Logic, and a minor in History graduating in 2000. He met the love of his life, Marie, in a professor-assigned group project in Medical Ethics class. They were married September 11, 1999.
Adam continued his studies in computer science at South Central College in North Mankato, but a diagnosis of MS in 2001 made him want to focus exclusively on his music. He played electric and classical guitar with a love for heavy metal and classical music and released his album, “Real Music”, May 2004.
Adam loved spending time with and talking with his family and friends, and was always concerned about how he could help those he loved. He made a point to try to keep in touch with others, even when the limitations of his body made communicating with others more difficult. He had an amazing sense of humor, and always made those around him laugh. He had a strong faith in God and faced all obstacles with determination and a positive attitude. He was passionate about creating and playing his music, and loved taking drives in his car to listen to his favorite music. He often thought of a song in passing and later the same day would hear it on the radio. Adam enjoyed watching NFL football and looked forward to competing in the annual fantasy football league with family and friends.
Adam is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marie; their two cats, Sully and Sophie; his mother, Margaret Worrell; siblings, Guy (Michelle) Worrell and Nina Worrell; nephews and nieces, Ricky, Nolan, Emilee, and Brielle; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Worrell and cat, Tommie.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials preferred to the family or to BENCHS, Blue Earth/Nicollet County Humane Society.
