Adeline “Addie” B. Selid, age 89, of North Mankato, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Family interment will be held at Mound Cemetery, Brooklyn Center, MN. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. Please share a memory of Addie with her family at www.mankatomortuary.com. Memorials will be accepted in lieu of flowers.
Addie was born April 10, 1934, in Gilman, WI to Willard “Bill” and Mathilda “Tillie” (Wood) Beck. She was a 1952 graduate of Cornell High School in Cornell, WI.
Addie married Orville Selid on December 3, 1983. After marriage, they lived and worked in Park Rapids, MN for 16 years. Together they managed Eagle Bay Lodge and owned a laundromat, mini golf course, and sweatshirt printing shop in town. Later they retired to Destin, FL where they lived for 22 years. They relocated to North Mankato in 2021.
She will be remembered as a kind, well dressed lady who was always quick to laugh. She loved to go dancing and spend time with family and friends. She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. She loved her home in Florida and enjoyed an active social life there, hosting parties and Bunco nights for friends and neighbors. She was an active member of the Destin Snowbirds, where she served as President of her area club from 1997-1998. She was also active with the International Conference of Police Chaplins (ICPC) in Destin.
Addie is survived by her husband of 39 years, Orville and his family; daughter, Teri; grandchildren, Amy (James) Herdt, James Roth, Jason (Inna) Roth, and Scott (Kristy) Cooper; great-grandchildren, Karina, Cole, Kaylee, Lexi, Kennedy, and Catherine; nieces and nephews and their families.
Addie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ken; sister, Barb; first husband, Del; daughters, Kathy and Sue; and son, Rick.
