Allen “Al” Mark Leibbrand

Allen “Al” Mark Leibbrand, age 66, of Mankato passed away due to complications from CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Hosanna Highland, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Research at www.cmtrf.org.

Al was born in Jordan, MN to Bill and Hazel (West) Leibbrand on November 2, 1957. Al graduated from Jordan High School in 1976. He attended Mankato State University. Al married his wife, the light of his life, Judi (Elletson) on June 25, 1988. Together they had one daughter, Megan. He worked at Harry Meyering Center for 10+ years. His last job was at MRCI assisting individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Al retired in 2006.

Al’s favorite hobby was listening to his music, he was a music lover that enjoyed a wide variety of music genres that included classic rock, blues, and little known artists. Another hobby Al had a love for coffee and had an appreciation for roasting his own coffee beans. He started roasting green coffee beans using an air popper popcorn machine. Al continued to experiment with different coffee bean roasting methods. Al had loyal customers that purchased his roasted coffee beans. Al loved hanging out with his family and liked watching Reality TV, News, History, Food Network, and Discovery channel.

Al is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judi; daughter, Megan (David) Martin-Leibbrand; grandson, Caden Martin-Leibbrand; brother, Craig Leibbrand (Glenn Honea); half-sister, Pat Trulock; in-laws, Bill (Shirley) Elletson, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and family dog, Princess GeiShe Bitty Boo Boo.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, and dogs Higgins, Sammy, and Ruko.
