Pete was born March 11, 1930 in the family farmhouse in rural Mapleton to Alvin Sr. and Lillian (Bleck) Jaeger. He graduated from Mapleton High School in 1947. Pete married Joan Sellers on November 24, 1949 at the United Brethren Church in Beauford.
Pete farmed all his life and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Mankato. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends to fish “up north” including many trips to Lake of the Woods. He loved music, especially gospel music, attending many concerts and events. Pete and Joan often sang in church and at numerous weddings and funerals over the years - and he sang hymns at home in his final months and weeks in this life before joining his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven.
