Anthony "Tony" Kozitza

Anthony “Tony” Kozitza, age 74, of North Mankato, MN, passed away on January 6th, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Born September 13, 1945 and raised on a Nicollet County farm, Tony excelled in football and basketball before graduating from Nicollet High School in 1963. During this time he became an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, which continued throughout his life. Following Army service and working in California, Tony married Jannette Klaus in 1969. In 1971, the couple moved to North Mankato to raise their 3 children. Tony worked for the US Postal Service, retiring in 2003. Jannette passed away in 2005. Tony married Lisa Hruby in 2008, and the couple thrived on the many new family relationships in both of their hometowns. Each became “Grandpa and Grandma” to one another’s families, spreading love and happiness in each other's directions. Tony was passionately driven and fully pursued learning everything he could about the things he was interested in.

Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Orvah (Lindsoe) Kozitza; former wife, Jannette; and granddaughter, Hannah Kozitza.

Survived by wife, Lisa; Tony’s children, Rachael (Kenneth) Wick, Ryan Kozitza (special friend, Nicole Nogosek) and Justin Kozitza; Lisa’s children, Matthew (Tara) Mager and Jenny (Jake) Wagner; grandchildren, Eric, Morgan and Kelly Jaster, Levi, Olivia and Logan Wick, Madisyn Kozitza, Madi Kozitza, Jace and Samantha Mager, Jeremiah, Jax and Judson Wagner; siblings, Sandy (Mark) Schaefer, Dick (Ruth) Kozitza, Jacquie (Brian) Grams, Bill (Sherry) Kozitza and Trudie (Jack) Gustafson; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Friday, January 10th, 2020, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN 56003. Private services will be held for the family.
