Ardys Ione Schultz

Ardys Ione Schultz, age 94, of North Mankato passed away on Sunday, February 18. She was a precious mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy was spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.

Ardys was born in Hector, MN in 1929. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1948 and married her husband, John, later that year.

Ardys was a determined and hard worker; she worked outside the home in addition to being an impeccable homemaker. Driven by strong work ethic and ambition, Ardys and John purchased The Mug

Drive-In restaurant in Mora, MN and operated it for 16 years. She took incredible pride in being a business owner.

Ardys was known for her generous and giving spirit, her tasty baked goods, delicious meals, and beautiful crochet afghans. The coffee pot was always on and she warmly welcomed company as a gracious hostess. She gifted innumerable crochet afghans to family and friends over the years, and completed her final afghan just one week before she passed away.

Ardys was an active member of United Methodist Women and the Eastern Star. Generous with her time and always willing to lend a hand, she frequently volunteered for church functions and donated many culinary treats and crochet afghans to various church fundraisers over the years.

Ardys is survived by her children, Sheila (Drew) Weber, and Lori (Wayne) Rykhus; grandchildren, Eric Weber, Kristen (Brian) McDevitt, Adam Weber, Masyn Rykhus, and Asher Rykhus; brother, Gary (Dian) Walker; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Shirley) Schultz, Floyd (Mabel) Schultz, Raymond (Jean) Schultz; sisters-in-law, Muriel Walker, and Geri Schultz, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ardys was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Raymond and Bessie Walker; siblings,

Harley Walker, Duane Walker, and Douglas Walker.

A Celebration of Life and burial will take place this spring. She will be laid to rest in Oak Knoll Cemetery, in Princeton.
