Hope Redlin - A Beautiful Gift from God

Beaula Hope Redlin, was given to Bennett and Helen Olmanson on March 30, 1937, the third of 7 children.  She was welcomed into God’s Kingdom and Family through baptism on September 9, 1937.  She has reflected the love of Christ in her life ever since.  Hope was confirmed at Norseland Lutheran Church in St. Peter, MN on May 21, 1950.  She was loved and embraced by many—especially a young man named Levi Dale Redlin who returned from the army.  They attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN together.   Married on August 25, 1957, they lived in Mankato.  The Lord blessed them with 2 children, Julie and Mark.

She was a beautiful and faithful partner and companion to Dale for 65 years: serving as a dorm mother while Dale finished the Seminary at Immanuel in Mankato, typing research papers for students at MSU and working as a teller in the bank.  She served the Lord alongside Dale in Pueblo, CO;  Cheyenne, WY;  Jamestown, ND;  Spring, TX;  and served as Church Secretary in Mankato, MN.  They retired from their work at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1998.

Her greatest love was her family.  Together they enjoyed many adventures: camping, fishing, playing games.  She and Dale led several trips to Israel, Germany and Alaska, as well as enjoying some winters in Texas and Alabama.  She loved to sew, do puzzles, and her favorite pastime was watching her sports teams. Go Vikings and Twins!

The Lord took her in His loving arms on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 joining her parents Bennett and Helen, brothers Evan and Keith, and great granddaughter Keturah Hope in heaven.

She is survived by her husband Levi Dale; brothers Duane, Omar (Kathleen), Leif (Karla) and sister Carol (Arlyn) Strege; children Mark (Dawn), and Julie (Dave) Reim; and 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Her last words were He is risen indeed!” in response to Pastor Joe Naumanns greeting,He is risen!”  A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 24, with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00, to give praise to the Lord for His gift of Hope and especially the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
