Barbara Joan Miller

Barbara Joan Miller, 80, of Mankato, died Friday, April 26, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary. Memorial service will be 11am, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato with visitation one hour prior. A reception will follow the service at church. Barbara was born October 7, 1938 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Tom and Clara (Olson) Eggers. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1956. Barbara was united in marriage to William Miller on June 1, 1957, and they were blessed with four children. They were faithful members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in North Mankato.

Barb worked as a bookkeeper for Lloyd Lumber for 14 years and also at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cleveland for five years. Her greatest joys included spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, relaxing at their cabin up north, and reading.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, William “Bill” Miller of Mankato; son, Michael (Shelly) Miller of Cleveland; daughter, Peg Schmidt of Isanti; grandchildren, Emile (Jon) Freitag, Craig (Anne) Miller, Natasha (Greg) Garbers, Jeremy (Kala) Harman, Elizabeth (Brad) Oleson, Scott (Laura) Miller, Geneva Walter, and Matthew (Katie) Miller; great-grandchildren Derek, Carter, Aurora, Mia, Emmy, Owen, Kade, Max, Shae, Joseph, Payton, Paxton, and Iver; brother, Darrell Eggers; and sons-in-law, Don Harman and Jon Lyon.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dean and Bruce; daughters, Jody Harman and Lynne Lyon; and granddaughter, Michelle Pursifull.
