Benjamin H. Johnson

Benjamin H. Johnson, age 91, of Mankato passed away on May 24, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Benjamin was born on January 26, 1929 to B. Horace and Jane Johnson. He grew up in Blue Earth, MN where he attended school, and graduated from high school in 1947. Benjamin worked at The Red Owl store until 1951, when he entered into the Army. He served 19 months in Korea.

Benjamin married Lila L. Kuhn on November 25, 1953. He worked at the Moulton Food Store, then moved to Mankato to work at Madsen’s, which later became Randalls Supervalu. There he worked for 36 years; 25 of which he was a manager.

Benjamin is survived by his children, Craig, David, and Patricia; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 brothers and 4 sisters, as well as a special friend, Gerry Peterson.
