Bernita "Bernie" Ruth Erickson

Bernita Ruth Erickson, of North Mankato, died Monday, December 30, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System at the age of 73.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the North Mankato Fire Station Community Room (1825 Howard Drive West, North Mankato, MN). In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St.Jude's Children's Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications.html Bernie Erickson Memorial fund.

Bernita Ruth (Caven) Erickson was born June 14, 1946, to Robert and Nellie (Hakes) Caven in Mankato, MN. She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Erickson on January 4, 1964. Bernie enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, cooking, fishing and spending time with family. 

Bernie is survived by her husband, Jerry Erickson of North Mankato, children, Michelle (Jon) Erickson-Goettl of Rockford, IL, Troy (Renee) Erickson of Willis, TX and Aaron (Kendra) Erickson of North Mankato, MN; one sister, Linda (Charlie) Embacher of Mankato, MN; nine grandchildren, Janelle and Dakota Goettl, Jake, Lauren, and Kaitlyn Erickson, Brie (Tony) Larson, Zach, Noah, and Lexi Erickson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Jerry Jr.; brother, Tom, and sisters, Eileen, Kathleen, and Roberta.
