Beverly Ann Fitzloff, age 86, of Mankato passed away peacefully Saturday, April 26, 2025, in her home surrounded by family.
Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., May 6, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato. Burial at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., May 5, at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church.
Beverly was born August 24, 1938, to Delbert and Anne (Thomsen) Best. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1957. She took classes at MSU and worked as a nurse aide at Immanuel Hospital.
Bev married the love of her life, Charles W. Fitzloff on January 11, 1959. They moved to Fort Eustis, Virginia where Chuck completed his years of service in the army. They moved back to Mankato where they started their family. They were blessed with four children, her pride and joy.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran church where she worked on the Outreach Committee, sang in the choir and was the leader for the greeter program.
She was a 4-H leader for 35 years in Blue Earth County and served on the State Fair Poultry show committee for 25 years. She was a Cub Scout den mother as well. Bev was an infant foster care parent for many years and a Title 1 paraprofessional for Mankato Area Public Schools for 23 years.
Bev’s hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, taking photos and camping. She was fondly known as Grandma Kitty.
Bev is survived by three sons, Carl (Kathy), Clark (Sharon), and Craig Fitzloff; one daughter, Connie (Rick) Long; grandchildren, Chris (Megan) Fitzloff, Kallie Fitzloff, Jonathan (fiancé Abby) and Thomas (fiancé Sydney) Fitzloff, Mariah Long, Jacob Long; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Jack, Kian, Nolan, Odin, and Charlotte; brother-in-law, Burton Williams; many nieces and nephews.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Anne Best; husband, Charles; father and mother-in-law, Carl W. and Lilly Fitzloff; sister and brother-in-law, Della and Walter Stoll; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, LaVern Williams, Marion and Donald Drescher, Donna and Don Watson, Albert and Arlene Fitzloff; nephew, Ken Fitzloff; niece, Cyndi Jacobson.
