Carol Ann Hauge, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 720 S. 2nd St, Mankato, MN 56001. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Private burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Carol was born June 18, 1939 to Carl and Alma Haugen in Canby, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Garfield Lutheran Church in Rural Madison, MN. She attended a one room country school during grade school and graduated from Madison High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Ronald Hauge on February 6, 1965. They were blessed with daughters Shari and Kris.
Carol lived much of her adult life in Mankato, MN working and raising their family. She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She adored her grandchildren and was always eager to get to any, and all of their activities and sporting events. Carol enjoyed embroidery, sewing, and cooking/baking. You could often find her shopping at Hobby Lobby and stopping for pie at Baker’s Square. She treasured the time spent with her family and many family pets.
Carol is survived by daughters Shari (Terry) Hoehn and Kris (Kim) Gerlach; grandchildren, Matthew Gerlach, Amanda (Brady Tart), Rachel, Ryan and Alex Hoehn; sister, Shirley Johnson and brother Charles Haugen; nieces, Sara (Drew) Cooper, Kari (Jeff) Young, and Flaherty Haugen; great-nieces and nephews, Katherine, Ben, Jackson and Austin, along with many cousins and extended family.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Ronald; brother-in-law, Lowell Johnson; sister-in-law, Colleen Haugen, and her parents, Carl and Alma.
Her big heart and giggles will be missed by all. Carol’s family would like to thank Mayo-Hospice and the staff and caregivers at Pheasant’s Ridge for their care. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to a local pet shelter or donor’s choice.
