Charlene Joyce Ubl

Charlene J. Ubl, age 88, of Mankato, died on January 14, 2025 at Brookdale Assisted Living, Mankato. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials are preferred to SCHOLA, designating the Len and Charlene Ubl memorial scholarship fund. 

Charlene was born on July 13, 1936 in rural Madelia to Herman and Hedwig (Behnke) Tischer. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1953. On June 26, 1954, Charlene was united in marriage to Leonard Ubl in New Ulm. They moved to Mankato in 1957. Charlene was a homemaker for many years until 1973 when she started working at Fitzgerald Middle School. She then worked for Mankato Area Catholic Schools and ended her career at Loyola. Charlene enjoyed traveling and gardening. She enjoyed her many social groups with exercise, ceramics, and card playing. Most of all, Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Charlene is survived by her three children, Karen Cooper (Dan McKinley) of Mankato, Nancy Lyons of Belle Plaine, and Jeanne (David) Hassing of Mankato; grandchildren, Amy (Alan) Everett, Sara (Tyler) Palmer, Andrew (Jenn) Carpenter, Eric (Jenny) Lyons, Stephen (Ashley) Lyons, Laura (Adam) Whittington, and Ryan (Ashton) Hassing; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Betty Dorn; sister-in-law, Beverly Ubl; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Susan; sons-in-law, Neal Cooper and Tim Lyons; great-grandson, Kaden; and sisters, Rena, Doris, and Bernice. 

Charlene will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
